Draws & Results 2024

This year we are keeping the mini-competition format for the early rounds of the Singles competition on a very similar basis to previously. We have 38 entries and the competition will run as follows.

On Singles 1 in the calendar, Monday 15th July, there will be 8 mini-competitions (known as mini-comps) (so ALL current League venues will need to be used) (6 with 5 players and 2 with 4 players) which will work as follows:

Match 1 = Player 1 v Player 2
Match 2 = Player 3 v Player 4 
Match 3 = Player 5 v Winner Match 1
Match 4 = Winner Match 2 v Winner Match 3

Or

Match 1 = Player 1 v Player 2
Match 2 = Player 3 v Player 4 
Match 3 = Winner Match 1 v Winner Match 2

All matches will be played on a best of 3 basis. The winners of Match 4 in each of the 5-player mini-comps and match 3 in each of the 4-player mini-comps will automatically qualify for the Quarter Finals on Monday 28th October. The winners of each of those will reach the Semi-Finals to be played on the same night with the winners advancing to the Final which will take place on Monday 25th November. The draw is continuous so the Quarter-Finals will be Winner Mini-Comp 1 v Winner Mini-Comp 2 and so on.

Organisers of each Mini-Comp will be provided with a form to record exact details of all match results for the records.

Details of venue and organiser for each Mini-Comp will be circulated shortly. 

Please note that the format of this competition again this year means that NO postponements will be permitted. However, a team may replace a player who is not available up to the start of the first match – please inform the League Secretary and the organiser of your Mini-Comp if this proves necessary.

Please bear in mind that all Captains, Vice-Captains and senior players may be needed to help organisers and referee matches at their venue.

 

There were 38 entries to this year’s Singles. The players have been divided into 8 mini-competitions (Mini-Comps) of 4 or 5 players, a total of 3 or 4 best of 3 frame matches in each Mini-Comp, to be played on the one night. This will leave the last 8 players (Mini-Comp winners) to meet in the Quarter Finals of the overall Singles competition on Monday 28th October. The winners of those Quarter Finals will advance to the Semi Finals to be played on the same evening and those winners will play the Final of the competition on Monday 25th November.

 

Please note that the format of this competition this year means that NO postponements will be permitted. However, a team MAY replace a player who is not available up to the start of his/her first match – Captains should have informed the League Secretary and the organiser of their player’s Mini-Comp in advance if this proves necessary.
