The John Luery Knout Out Cup (AKA Knock Out Cup - name changed in 2016/17) is an annual competition automatically entered by all teams as part of their registration for the season and the format is, if you like, the League’s equivalent of football’s FA Cup. The competition is played on a straight knock out basis with a draw being held for each round and with matches played on the same basis as League matches, best of 9 frames (6 Singles and 3 Pairs) but, unlike League matches, play formally ends when one team has won 5 frames although teams sometimes make a night of it and play remaining frames on a friendly basis.
