Jim McKenzie Memorial Trophy

The Jim McKenzie Memorial Trophy was a speed pool competition played annually at the White Hart pub in Tulse Hill and named after Jim McKenzie, a former stalwart of the pub and the pool team. The competition was played in one night on a simple “fastest player to clear the table wins” basis and was open to all players in the League to participate. In speed pool, the player takes the break off shot and the clock starts ticking the next time he/she strikes the cue ball.
The League’s record for a player to clear the table currently stands at 41 seconds and is held by Dave Elliott.
The competition dates back at least to 1998 and maybe earlier but the older winner information is not available. The event was discontinued in
2014. Winner information prior to 1998 will be added if/when it is made available to us. Historic trophies are not in the League’s current possession.
