Scotch Pairs is a new pairs competition that was introduced as a summer event (August) in 2023 and is open to all players in the League who are interested in participating and who turn up on the night and pay a £1 entry fee.

Medals, rather than trophies, are awarded for the summer events. 

The League has not held any competitions in August prior to 2018 as a lot of players with young families are on holiday, but a number of players had requested some competition and it was agreed to hold different competitions at different venues on the first three Mondays of the month.

The differences between this and the regular pairs competition are that players can partner with anyone (not necessarily from their own team), players in a pair can talk to each other briefly between each shot, and players in a pair play alternate shots rather than alternate visits.
