In 2023, the South East London Pool League was offered one year’s free affiliation to the Greater London County Pool Association (GLCPA). After consideration of the offer and the benefits, it was agreed to take up the offer. This enabled a team from the South East London Pool League to participate to take part in the GLCPA Interleague tournament for 2024 and the other GLCPA competitions and also enabled our players to enter other national tournaments. All of these competitions are played under International Rules.

Under the captaincy of Eamonn Staunton (Horns Tavern), ably supported by his Vice-Captain, Brian Willey (Prince of Wales B), the team, made up of players from most teams in our league, has enjoyed a very creditable first season, especially given that a significant majority of them had never played under those Rules before, finishing 2nd in Group D placing them 9th overall out of 13 teams. Congratulations to Eamonn, Brian and the whole team on a very successful first season having started more or less from scratch. We have now agreed unanimously to affiliate formally for 2025 and we wish the team and players well for the coming season.
